Members Vote “Yes” on the Tentative Contract

The members of local 7631 voted to accept the tentative contract as proposed in balloting held Monday, 03 Aug 2009. 

Members spoke about their ongoing concerns in a spirited discussion during the day long voting process.  There was a general consensus that the bargaining team had done a remarkable job in crafting the best agreement attainable at this time.   Ultimately the members of the local decided to stand with their bargaining team by casting their votes in favor of the tentative agreement.

The next step in the process is for management to take the agreement to the TAMC Board for approval.  They are recommending that the Board accept the agreement.

If the TAMC Board votes in favor of the agreement then we have a contract that will be in force for the stated term (01 Aug 2009 -31 Jul 2010).  The contract will then be prepared for signature.

Discussion has already started about some of the items we will pursue in next years negotiations.  Let your voice be heard.  The officers of your union are anxious to here any ideas that you have.
